蔡元培

蔡元培(1868.1.11-1940.3.5)，字鹤卿，浙江省人，中华民国首任教育总长，1916年至1927年任北京大学校长。他的教育模式新颖，认为教育是国家兴旺之根本，是国家富强之根基。教育思想灵活，兼容并包，不因学术争议而排斥，广泛吸收各家所长。他还提倡美育、健康教育、人格教育等新的教育观念。在接纳新文化、反对封建文化方面起到了积极作用。

Cai Yuanpei (January 11, 1868-March 5, 1940), also known as Heqing, is a native of Zhejiang Province who served as the first minister of education of the Republic of China and the president of Peking University from 1916 to 1927. Advocating the novel education mode, he held that education forms the basis of the national prosperity. He also held that education should adopt flexible concepts and become more inclusive, regardless of academic disputes, and absorbs all schools of advanced ideas and merits. As well, he advocated fresh educational concepts such as aesthetic education, fitness education, and personality education. He played a positive role in the absorption of new culture and opposition to feudal culture.
