微信红包是腾讯旗下产品微信于2014年1月27日推出的一款应用，可以实现发红包、查收发记录和提现等功能。每个红包金额在0.01-200元之间随机产生，最大不超过200元。2015年8月20日，七夕全天微信红包收发总量达14.27亿次，突破2015除夕10亿的峰值。

Wechat is a messaging app launched by Tencent, which added a red packet feature to the app on Jan 27, 2014. In Chinese culture, red packets filled with cash are often given during holidays. You can send an online red packet between 0.01 yuan and 200 yuan to someone else’s Wechat account. On August 20, 2015, Chinese Valentine's Day, over 1.4 billion red packets were sent and received, which broke the previous record of 1 billion on the eve of 2015.
