《怪物史莱克》Shrek

Anne H. Another instance where a character transforms due to the effects of social interactions is in the movie Shrek. Shrek is an ogre and nobody will take a chance to get to know him. Because of this isolation from the community Shrek becomes scornful and hateful of other people. Shrek is sent on a journey to rescue Princess Fiona and he is accompanied by Donkey. Donkey is a key component to Shrek's transformation into a caring and accepting being. He teaches Shrek that "ogres are like onions, they have layers." Like an onion, Shrek has built up a tough skin to keep people out of his life, but over time, as he sheds the rough layers and opens up to people, it is clear that Shrek is kind. Without Donkey's help Shrek never would have come to understand that he can be an accepted member of society—he just needs to show people that he isn't dangerous.
