实用技能
Describe a practical skill you learned
You should say:
What it was
When you learned it Why you learned it
And explain how you felt about it
One thing I feel proud of myself for (为自己感到骄傲) is that I learnt to cook. It’s not a big deal(没什 么大不了的) because many people also cook for themselves. But for me, it’s a big accomplishment. I once attended an internship(参加实习) during a summer vacation, and I rented an apartment for two months. I couldn’t eat in the canteen anymore and it costed a lot(很贵;花很多钱) to order food online or eat in restaurants. It was at that time that(it is……that强调句型) I decided to learn to cook. I thought cooking was very difficult until(直到……才,直到动手做才知道做饭并不难) I started to do it. We have a lot of resources online and it’s quite easy to find recipes(搜索菜谱) you want. I started cooking by following the steps online and, just a few days later, I understood how to cook instead of just following those steps like a robot. Now I know exactly how to cook and it’s not boring at all. Every day you can cook whatever you want and it’s really enjoyable. Besides(除此之 外), now I have my own cooking style and I’m so willing to cook for my family and for friends. It is more meaningful than to treat them in restaurants(比出去请客吃饭更有意义). Meanwhile(同时), it saves a lot(很省钱) and it is a good way to improve my ability to live an independent life(提高独立生 活的能力). After all(毕竟), we can’t eat in restaurants or order food for our entire life, so cooking is a very practical skill. I have become more independent by mastering this skill(掌握这项技能) and it makes me feel more confident about my future.
