Task1

Nowadays some people don't choose to use social media webs or apps. Can you talk about one advantage and/or one disadvantage of not using social media.

Sample response:

In terms of not using social media apps, the disadvantage is that this may pose inconvenience to my daily life. I am a food lover and constantly I need to search delicious foods in my city. Without such apps, I may not see the introduction and sharing from my friends or some platforms. On the contrary, if using the social media apps, such as the We chat which is the most popular app in China, I can directly know the introduction of some elegant restaurants, the best seller in some restaurants, whether the price is expensive or not, the comments from other users and so on; all these can help me make a reasonable choice.

Task2

Do you agree or disagree with the statement that it is a reasonable choice to get someone who is influential to help you find a job?

Sample response:

I don't think it’s appropriate to get a person who is influential to help me find a job, cause this may pose inconvenience to both the company that accepts me and myself. For example, I am a sophomore learning medicine, and my father happens to be the regional president in the Bank of China, if he uses his power to help me find a job working in his bank. High salary as it is, yet my supervisor has to spare much time to teach me how to collect data, how to sell the financial products and so on, because I am not majoring in it, plus I may feel uncomfortable as well when doing something I am not adept at. Thus, I don’t think we should depend on power and influence when having the job hunting.
