TASK 1

What qualities are most needed in a small company? outgoing and friendly, imaginative or creative.

Sample response：

In my view, in a small company, the quality most needed is outgoing and friendly.

Because in a small company, there might be fewer staffs, and each staff might be responsible for one business sector. Someone may be responsible for marketing and sales; some guy may shoulder the responsibility of accounting and finance. So if staffs in such a company are outgoing and friendly, it’s very easy for them to communicate and cooperate with each other, solving problems or dealing with conflicts. On the contrary, if all the staffs are shy and indifferent, it seems that there might be no one else who can help them to deal with their business.

TASK 2

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement that protecting kids from being aware of the living difficulties in life at a young age is important?

Sample response：

I don’t think so. On the contrary, I think kids should be aware of the living difficulties as early as possible.

For one thing, knowing these can stimulate their aggressive spirit. When kids know how competitive the society is, how difficult it is to earn money, how laborious their parents are, kids will treasure what they have now and exert themselves to be aggressive.

For another thing, knowing these may help them to be grateful to their parents. Instead of constant complaining, they will respect their parents; they may care the happiness and sadness of their parents; they may learn to share the burden of life with their parents. All these are beneficial to their growth.
