Task 1

Describe an experience in which you hurt another person’s feeling unintentionally. 描述一次无意间伤害到朋友的经历。

Sample Answer:

Well, I went to the US for high school, and when I first went there, I was like, overwhelmed by tons of schoolwork, presentations, projects, and stuff. Unexpected pressure fell all down on my thin shoulders. However, my close friend Zhangjing texted me saying that she wanted to visit me around Christmas. To be honest I was frustrated at that time, so I told her I won’t have time to keep her company all the time. I felt that she was disappointed at me because she didn’t contact me for like, a whole year. I felt so sorry for that and I still do.

Task 2

Is it better to use your extra money to buy some objects like clothes or electronic products, or is it better to use the extra money to increase your experience like going for a vacation or a concert? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. [2016.9.10下午/2017.4.23/2017.10.21]

Sample answer:

Since I am from a mid-class family, when it comes to money, I won’t spend a single penny on things I don’t necessarily need. Like electronic devices refreshing yearly, or abundant clothes. However, I am an avid traveler, so it’s always worth the price if money buys me some precious experience. Last summer I bought a round trip plane ticket to Miami with some extra money earned as a cashier. I not only experienced the hospitality of local people who have a different accent, but also witnessed spectacular sunset at the South Beach. These are more valuable than clothes.
