People in modern societies are increasingly finding themselves under great pressure and having less leisure time. What do you think are the reasons for this? And give some suggestions.

It is true that pace of life in modem society becomes faster and faster. Many people complain that|| they have little time to entertain themselves and it is difficult to free themselves from tremendous pressure. What factors lead to this unpleasant phenomenon and what we can do to solve this problem becomes a concern to many people.

Firstly, it is strong competition that makes people have to work hard to survive. If not, we will probably be thrown out of the game and become losers. The competition has begun since we were very young. We were sent to me best schools and then the best universities to pursue a better education so that we could succeed in our career. At our work we have to work very hard to keep the job. It is very often that someone loses his job when his performance can't make his boss satisfied.

Secondly, it is our inherent biological nature that drives us to seek more opportunities and live a better life. We are always discontented with what we have. To realize our dream, some of which is very materialistic, we have to endure the pressure and sacrifice a lot of our leisure time.

A lot of pressure and little leisure time result in serious mental and physical problems. The basic way to solve this problem is to educate people that they should have a practical attitude toward competition. We should have a more relaxed mentality when we make a decision about the work we pursue. For many people, it would be wise to choose a job which is not very competitive. For others, enjoy-what-you-have is a better option. (276 words)
