A Letter to the University President

about the Goods Promotion on CampusApril 21, 2006

Dear Mr. President,

Nowadays the goods promotion on campus is on the rise. When you are taking a nap on the dormitory, you will be disturbed by knocks on the door by a salesman. Most of those goods promoted are of poor quality. Worse still, this poses a potential danger on the security of the dormitory.

Why is the goods promotion so pervasive on campus? Firstly, many salesmen believe that college students are naive and can be easily deceived. Secondly, a number of students, especially the freshmen, are in great need of various necessities at the beginning of each semester. Thirdly, some students want to take part?time jobs and earn some money.

As for this kind of phenomenon, I?d like to put forward some suggestions. On the one hand, those professional salesmen should not be allowed to enter the dormitory to promote their goods. On the other hand, no promotion activity should be allowed during noon break. I hope in this way our campus life will be left undisturbed.
