你已经决定了吗?这确实很很危险。

B: Whatever you say, I won't chicken out onthings. I'm determined to do.

不管你说什么，只要是我决定要做的事情，我就不会退缩。

A: Stop talking big. You can't fool me. I'm afraid youdon't know how to do it at all.

别说大话了，你哄不了我。恐怕你根本不知道如何去做。

四级口语第二，地道表达

chicken out

1. 解词释义

Chicken out的意思是“由于胆怯而退缩，收兵”。

2. 拓展范例

e.g. The band couldn't perform because the singer chickened out backstage.

这个乐团不能表演，因为主唱在后台临阵退缩了。

e.g. Jim was going to skydive, but chickened out when he got on the plane.

吉姆本来要玩跳伞，但是在上了飞机后却临阵退缩。

e.g. They feared that their allies would chicken out on the plan at the last moment.

他们担心他们的同盟者会在最后的时刻退出这项计划。

四级口语第三，语汇积累

1. make a (one's) decision：做决定

e.g. Judge John Bates said he would make his decision as soon as possible.

约翰·茨法官说他将尽快做出决定。

e.g. If you make this decision you will certainly have the President at your back.

你如果采取这项决定的话，一定会得到总统的支持。

2. talk big：吹牛，说大话

e.g. You can't believe more than half of what he says, he always likes to talk big.

他的话一半你也别相信，他们总是爱吹牛。

e.g. He likes to talk big as though he was an important person.

他老爱说大话，就仿佛他是一位要人似的。

3. be determined to do：决定做某事

e.g. He is determined to seek for a building more suited to their needs.

他决心另找一座更适合他们需要的房子。

e.g. Characteristically, he was determined to act without clearly knowing what to do.

他仍然是老脾气，还没弄清楚到底去做什么，就采取了行动。

e.g. He was determined to mend his ways and turn over new leaf.

他决心改过自新，重新做人。
